Usernames/Aliases: We collect the name you input when creating or joining a game room. This alias is visible to other players in your session.
Session State: Game progress, player rosters, card hands, active flags, and turn sequences are temporarily cached in your browser's sessionStorage.
Socket Data: When you connect to our servers, we maintain a temporary socket connection ID (Socket.io) to synchronize actions between you and other players.
Network Data: We may process basic network metadata (such as IP addresses) solely for connection routing, rate limiting, and anti-cheat purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively to power and protect the gameplay experience:

To create, manage, and synchronize real-time multiplayer game rooms.
To enable the in-game Alliance Chat widget and transmit messages between session members.
To enforce gameplay rules, validate turn authority (using your active session identity), and track token economies.
To persist website theme preferences (stored as ec-theme in your browser's localStorage).

Data Retention & Security

Strict Session Isolation: Empire Climb values your privacy. We do not store persistent player database records or track your gaming habits across the web.

Game rooms and chat transmissions exist solely in active memory and dissolve once the host terminates the session or all players disconnect. Your in-game chat messages are not archived or logged on our servers after the game concludes.

Third-Party Services

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to outside parties. We only utilize hosting services (such as Railway or Vercel) and real-time communication frameworks (Socket.io) to deploy the game. These services only process connection metadata necessary to deliver the application to your browser.
